S1 fuel tank mounting

It's been a while since I removed the fuel tank and I can't remember what it sits on, I think it was on rubber strips, can anyone tell me how thick they need to be, as I don't want it to foul body when I fit shell back on

Its only 1-2mm thick. You shouldn't be able to make it too thick as the silver supporting strips that go over the top will not fit. If they are fitted properly then the body "shouldn't" foul on the tank.
