Car wouldnt start this morning
Discussion
After cleaning it all I got was a loud click when pressing the starter button.
Got my brother to press the button while I had my hand on the starter solenoid he pressed the button and it turned over! Got him to try again and was the main power lead to the starter that needed a wiggle.
So once it was started I nipped down to the kit car show with my brother in Newark. Kit cars got in for free
Again used the wiggle trick to get home. Once home I disconnected the battery and looked at the cable, on pulling it it turned out it wasn't connected to the spade connector any more!! Had broken completely off, about a half inch thick cable as it carries a lot of current.
So cleaned it all up and put the connector on properly once I'd opened it up and crimped it back on. All is good again although I'll be keeping an eye on it and will use a new cable and connector if it plays up again.
Just lucky I found it so quick!
A tip for something for others to check if you have starting issues with a loud click
