I spend quite a bit of time in the county just interested to know if I "spot" something interesting which region its in? I doubt they would want to be in the Yorkshire region, its not East Anglia looking through the spotted threads so where actually is it......or dont they have anything worth mentioning....well they do because I was passed today by a GT3 and another porsche both going in the opposite direction to me between Wragby and Bardney.

North Lincolnshire used to be south humberside until a recent name change. Fortunately I come from north lincs rather than being a midlander like those in the rest of lincs. north lincs & north east lincs are both in 'Yorkshire & the Humber'.

We used to get Tyne tees as our reginal ITV channel.

I should have known that, I live in Yorkshire, only lived here for 2 years though, that's my excuse for not knowing

Two distinct areas I would agree with Deamoniod.... so different Scunny area proper Norf. the rest East-south Midlands...oh and then there is Gainsborough...meh.

As for OP's spot that was in the east midlands.

I assume this is for the regional PH'er spotted threads not some TV broadcast or geo-political 'region'
It's a bit lost between it seems, a bit like my end of Sussex, which is more Kent than Bournemouth, yet here is apparently south coast smile

Well i'd never have believed it....east midlands eh. I live in Yorkshire about 5 miles from the N Lincs border...I never realised I was so close to talking like Noddy Holder!!!
Clearly not much doing in the Lincs bit of the Midlands regional page. Not one thing "spotted" over last 20 pages!

But their musical talents when it comes to plucked stringed instruments are second to none. It's the second thumb on each hand apparently.

Stamford is the wierd one. It butts up with 2 other counties, Cambridgeshre abd Rutland though it is in the South Kesteven area of Lincs. East midlands? Not quite East Anglia.

The accent is odd. Some have northern flat vowels Bath rather tha Baarth for example. Almost Nottinghamshire, but there are others who are quite rural ooooo arrrr type accents , then people with generic East Mids accents.

When I lived there as a kid, there was no official TV station. Yorkshire, Anglia and Central all covered the area.

Was born in Lincolnshire and have lived here all of my life (apart from 3 years in Nottingham). The bit I live in (South Holland, Spalding) always seems to appear under East Midlands when you do weather searches etc.

It was '96 so only 16 years ago... but wow! Where has the time gone? That was half my life ago.

Lincolnshire is an odd county - it's really tall so has a real identity crisis. It borders Cambridgeshire so it's nearly in the south, but people in Gainsborough claim to be northerners. Those of us from North Lincs end up with a generic northern accent - no one can really place it and Londoners often think we're just posh yorkshire folk.

But apart from my lotus and the 2 porsches I spotted on Sunday are the rest massey fergusons then. I go to woodhall spa and Ive seen some lovely stuff there. The Petwood Hotel car park generally has its fair share and there is always some classic event running through.
