Morning All,

Sorting out finances with the ex and need somewhere for her to put £10k for a few days whilst I sign her off the mtg.
I take on the whole mtg and she pays me half of the -ve equity.

Has to be somewhere neutral and somewhere where she can't change her mind and shaft me with all the house debt once I take it on in my sole name.
Not sure if solicitors/Escrow offer this service or who does to be honest.

All advice welcome

THis sort of thing is exactly what solicitors are for. Smoothly done and no come-backs for the sake of a couple of hundred pounds.

Thanks for the reply.

Didn't know if she could instruct her solicitor to give her the money back once I had signed.

Right I see.
To play devils advocate - can't my solicitor just then keep the money for me and I don't sign anything. Is the onus then on me to play fair or are solicitors bound to do the right thing?

Solicitors are boundbny the law and Law Society rules and regulations. On the whole, they are a pretty trustworthy bunch.
