I am constantly annoying other road users by forgetting to cancel the indicators. The relay is inaudible at any speed above about 20mph. Has anyone fitted an additional buzzer or other warning device?

yes - had one on a Griffith. It was a buzzer unit off a motorbike. The dealer who fitted it said it was quite easy to wire in - what was more tricky was muffling it to the right volume

Drive around in a Citroen BX for a while -- they don't have self-cancelling but do have a loud click. I found that checking indicators have cancelled has become a habit and that was, what?, ten years ago.

I understand Cerberas also do not have self cancelling.

Had one fitted to my Chim about a year ago, I always us it when I drive with the roof off. I'm sure that if you took it to were you get it serviced they would fit one for you.

had a few sympathetic vectra jockeys kindly point out () i had forgotten to cancel after overtaking - always make a point now, don't know why they were so cross though - they were just stuck up my ase for about 3 miles, when they went past they shouted and screamed obscenities at me - wasn't even them I overtook!

Cerberas do have self cancelling. If I remember correctly its electrical and not mechanical though, coupled with the fact that the stalk returns to normal position the moment you let it go you could be forgiven for thinking it hasn't.
