day at MIRA for volunteers!!
Discussion
firstly thanks to those that replied to my earlier posts.
I work for a games company, and we are in need of some good engine sounds!
We have a date booked at MIRA at the end of this month to use their soundproofed rolling-road..
would any of you be so kind as to help us out, by coming along and giving yours cars a run so that we can record them?
any help much appreciated!
Thanks
Piers

just nice engine notes.. I imagine for a vette, a standard exhaust isn't exactly quiet! so either really..
rolling road.. I don't see why you wouldn't get a power graph.. but will check.
and some form of "thanks to.." in the credits..

P.S. do you have a mate with a vette with plate "BlowJob" ? not beeing rude.. but met such a bloke at a PH meet near reading.. and remember him saying something about a car with a "testicle" plate..

MIRA is 5 minutes from my works Paul on the A5, but I remember VENOM500 having a similar thing done, for a Playstation game earlier in the year, he had to hold the revs below the redline for 15 seconds !! then drop 500 revs hold for another 15 seconds, all the way down to idle. I dont fancy doing this, so I would check was is needed before you trash your motor. He did get quite a few freebies though to compensate

This shouldn't be any problems!!
I think I read for testing the LT5 engine they gave it 5 minutes at WOT then a cooldown then 5 minutes at max torque, this repeated constantly for 200 hrs...
So 15sec at redline should be alright

who said anything about a cool down ? all in one go !!
dropping 500 each 15 seconds, not to bad for the viper it only revs to 6000.
Fair enough 5 mins, but 15 seconds is along time try holding your breath![]()

But WOT for 5 mins is 300 seconds!!
So 15 seconds, really, should be no problemo for the viper: going down in 500rev intervals would still only take 150secs... Don't you drive around in redline in 1st, for fun, just to wake folk up... or is that just me?

I do get a kick out of driving along at 55mph in 1st, for the hell of it...
