I sold my beloved Chimaera, which I'd owned for 8 years and since 8,000 miles, to a good friend on the understanding I could buy it back at some stage. Sadly he spun it into a tree after two weeks frown Fortunately he is ok, but the car looks quite sorry for itself.

I need to buy a replacement front end and wondered if there are any differences. The car is a 1998 with revised rear lights and hinges, but I'm not aware of any year related changes to the front (until the faired in lights arrived)

Please confirm. Thanks.

Have a look at www.chimaerapages.com

Gives an overview of model changes - including front end changes in 1996.

3 variants:

1) Original - indicators in "mesh"
2) Revised indicator housing and grille. The bonnet slats may have increased in size?
3) Faired in lights

I was at HHC at weekend and they had quite a few body sections rescued from the factory. Can't remember if they had a Chim front though .( they def had a complete rear) might be worth giving Tony a ring

Thanks, I've now bought a back end and looking at the photos, I hope the front end can actually be repaired - although I need to wait until I see the car to be certain...
