aargh!
just managed to delete the users folder containing my home folder and all docs and data.

machine is setup with os on one drive and data on the other.

anyone know any tricks or utils to recover the deleted files (gone straight to oblivion not trash) most important stuff is backed up but would like the whole lot back

no experience of unix but willing to get hands dirty if required

[I was only trying to delete an alias on the os drive pointing to the users folder on the datadrive, not the folder itself. doh!]

There is absolutely no way to recover deleted files as OS-X overwrites them almost immediately - unless you have one of the tranche of drive utilities available pre-installed before this happened, and had the 'file-saver' part enabled.

thanks m-five

crisis over then. sulking and reconstructing work begins.

currently doing archive & install of 10.3

datadrive thinks its ejectable since i upgraded to 10.3.4 yesterday.
restoring .dmg of 10.3.3 didn't cure it so...

All my drives say they are removable, although all the eject does is unmount them!
