Thought would share new car I have a purchased a little Clio 172. I had considering a range of cars and had a budget of up to about £4,000 if needed had a look at a leon cupra considered a 325i (never drove one) and then I saw a Clio 172 advertised locally at what seemed like a bargain (£2,000) went to have a look and had the most service history have ever seen with a car everything had been done and more that is needed on these cars at with only 63k miles and at an agreed £1700 I snapped the blokes hand off. Car itself seems a nice example only problem is two little parking dent in rear quarter I will hopefully get fixed and a few marks on the wheels which will get sent for refurbishment. Overall I am really chuffed it drives very well handling is amazing and at the moment still not got used to the power seems amazingly fast every time I even touch the accelerator coming from a 1.2 fiesta and 1.4 ZR 
Plans for the car are to keep it for a year or so hopefully do a few trackdays and then possibly upgrade to a Z4 or something like that when I am 21 and insurance is a bit better this alone has cost me £650 extra on top of the initial £700 paid on my ZR
but more than worth it as drives so well and at the price I paid does seem a bargain.

Cheers everyone car will be insured tomorrow so can drive it properly only had the test drive thus far and even then power seemed mental at low revs god knows what it will be like when it really kicks in at 5k+
Going to get used to it for a month or so and then get myself booked on a trackday I think and make the most of my purchase

Yeah had the cambelt and other done stuff 12k and two years ago also just has had new exhaust, exhaust mounts, disks and pads, two front tyres and a full service they are just bills and bills for stuff has really been looked after hence me going for it greggy50 said:

Yes I did owned 3 scooters and a motorbike since then over the last 4 years I turned 16 just sold the last parts of my scooter yesterday actually. Yesterday afternoon in fact, we were trying to work out why his headlight washers don't spray, you can hear the pump, but nothing comes out, anyone have any bright ideas?
It still surprises me just how torquey and quick the little bugger is, gets me every time, it's brilliant, and the way it goes around the bends and just grips and grips is phenomenal. There's one slip road onto the A3 nearby that really shows it's metal. Jesus...
Only downside really is that I can't fit, if there was height adjustment on the passenger seat I think I'd be fine, don't know if there is one on the drivers side...

Oh, and the £12 Fabia vRS splitter from Skoda Parts really finishes off the front end a treat.

Lovely looks a nicer example that mine...
Mine needs a couple of dents removing out rear quarter which is booked in for a couple of weeks then mate is going to machine polish it all (in decent nick already) and sort out the common problem of the glazed headlamps with a wet sand and polish should be pretty mint then bar a wheel refurb which I will get once the MG is sold.
With regards to headlight washers it is a very common problem apparently and is the only fault with mine can cost hundreds to fix so it was just disconnected so the cars pass's MOT's as its not a thing that is needed day to day. Oh and it does have height adjustment I am 6 foot 3 and fairly broad and fit in fine pretty comfortable to be honest and it rides very well for such a sporty car
Really impressed with this car done 300 miles in 3 days just come up to Lincoln in it (80 mile trip) sat at 80/85 most of the way accept for a quick blast up to a high rate of leptons and has averaged 39mpg according to the computer Getting used to the power now its nice to be there its quite a torquey motor and 3rd gear is pretty awsome in it if need to overtake not pushed it much in the corners yet as still getting used to it but so far it seems very competent and the traction control seems very good as well doesn't seem to cut in too early but has helped quick getaways in the rain

The glazed lights are soooo common, his parents have a similarly immaculate 39,000mi 172 in Silver, their headlights were glazed really badly, his Dad sanded them quite a bit and polished it hard with a machine polisher which really made a difference from a distance, but up close it's not so good, he's got some wet and dry to finish the job now though.
I'm just over 6ft 4, was asked to leave a ride at Alton Towers last month for being too tall and broad, my harness tripped the ride three times!
Good to know the drivers seat goes down, I have to recline the passenger seat a fair way!
