I have a helmet, five point harness and half cage. I need to get suited up properly, as jeans and t-shirt seemed a bit vulnerable at PVS.

I'm guessing I want to be wearing some decent fire retardant clothing. What's best on a budget and what standards should I be sticking to. I'd rather have a two piece, as all in ones rarely fit. Also where's best to buy from???

Car is street legal and runs tens (looking for nines), so would like to leave my options open for those classes I might run in.

Cheers

Join SPRC or APIRA and you should get the rule books, which will tell you what you need. For a firesuit, I think FIA 1986 or newer or SFI 3-2A/5 would probably be OK for you.

FIA 1986 is now a very dated suit and could be deleted from the MSA list very soon. The current Fia spec is FIA 2000. if you want a 2 piece then the SFI 32a-5 would be better. but this would not be accepted if you wanted to do hill climb or sprinting.

I did not check the prices on the UK site mentioned earlier,
but have heard that swiss TMFC racer Des Krivan does some good pricing
in his shop : http://www.djsafety.eu/
First make sure what kind of SFI or FIA specs you need for your current car and race class,
maybe with options for the future.
Also check out how long the certificate is valid, and how, where and at what cost
a re-certification can be done.
