A nice man wants me to 'drop him a line'..........
Discussion
Right 'o, I have been doing a First Aid course this week, amongst the people attending there was a HR Manager from a local company. Said company is in the same line of work as the people I currently work for.
As we were chatting about various bits and bobs he mentioned to me that I should 'drop him a line' regarding what we had been talking about. Short version is that his company wants new drivers for normal work as well as new people/drivers to be part of a nationwide team based at the depot local to me but who would be called upon to go to any other depot and work.
At the end of the course he gave me his email addtess, question is, what should I write/mention in my first email.
Cheers folks

If 'what you had been talking about earlier' was the the exploration of an opening at the other company, then simply state that further your conversation, you'd be interested in discussing the matter further and request what information he needs from you.
If 'what you had been talking about earlier' was him exploring your opening, then whatever floats your boat!

Made me chuckle somewhat. Obviously the first part, don't think he was that way inclined.... and I'm certainly not interested in anyone 'exploring my opening'
