I was working at house on Saturday and this bloke had an ex ambulance with the 3.9 Rover V8 in. Never knew they put it in a van. Got me thinking of all the manufacturers that used that powerplant.

LDV
TVR
Morgan
Land Rover (Range Rover, Disco)
Ford (when they owned Land Rover)
Austin Rover (or BL, or whatever else it was called)
Marcos

Not to mention all the kit cars, I'm sure there are others if I researched the subject.
But a V8 Sherpa van, from the factory. Sleeper or what?

Strap on an Eaton supercharger, and rebuilt the engine and it will be a a lot of shocked faces when your pulling away from chavs in their Saxos.

The V8 version of the Sherpa minibus was popular as a rapid intervention police personnel carrier, apparently smile .

Yup the Police Response Sherpas were all V8s. Low compression Defender spec 3.5s. They are detailed in one of the Rover V8 books I have at home.

A mate had an ex-Police riot van with a Rover lump, needed it as it was so heavy.
You've forgotten all those little manufacturers like Fairthorpe (second time around) and loads of other small specialists building hillclimbers etc.

Castle Combe circuit still has one as an emergency vehicle.

However nothing comes close to the General.
