Bad Manners - Women Drivers

On my way home tonight, I stopped 3 times to allow an oncoming car through a tight gap in the road and 3 times the driver just drove straight past without a thank-you knod/wave/smile. The common link between the 3? All women!!! I find that on average about 8-9/10 men generally wave their appreciation, where as 2-3/10 women do likewise. Is this a national trend or it is just the women drivers(not all I hasten to add!) of Stoke on Trent who have no manners? I'm not being sexist, it's just the way I find it.Do women say thank-you to other women drivers? Is it a shivelry thing..is it expected? It's not a one off incident, it happens all the time. My wife says that it's just a women thing, like the state of ladies toilets? Whatever that means??? Any thoughts on this phenomenon?

I thought it was an unwritten rule that you gave way to vehicles coming uphill? Not if the other vehicle is driven by a female (generally).

I always thank someone, however, I did notice that when I was blonde more men gave way, now I'm brunette again I just have to sit and wait my turn.

Maybe if they take one of their hands off the steering wheel to wave, they will probably loose control of the car

National trend I think - exactly the kind of figures I would have quoted. Only thing iother than bad manners is perhaps that most are so focused on driving (i.e not as relaxed as men), they're oblivious to other parties!

I am also finding that women are just becoming plain rude and not just on the road, I took my fiancée to a new bar a few Fridays ago to have a look/see and as I came to a door I saw a lady (Term used very loosely) so held the door open for her. Her response was to look at me with distaste and say 'yeah whatever' - f**kin Chav/Ned B*tch. Now at the time I was suited and booted as I had just been to the theatre, sober so it was not as if I was acting slimey like the rest of the Burberry clad idiots in the bar. But the attitude was just unbelievable; it is times like this one thinks euthanasia is a good thing to cleanse this world of trash like this.

To be fair women drivers are being poitively discouraged from making eye contact with other drivers (to avoid possible incidents), so this is maybe a knock on effect. I've noticed it too.

Nor do I. I haven't heard that advice before. Personally, I'm not in the least bit intimidated by male drivers but unfortunately there are an increasing number of complete nutters out there for sure. You only have to look at the aggressive and reckless manner in which they behave when behind a steering wheel thereby endangering all other road users

In a similar vein, I often notice that when I stop to let an oncoming car through a narrow gap they may well acknowledge the fact with a nod or a wave, but any following cars won't. why is that?

Hmmm, concentrating on a narrow gap AND a car in front...definitely too much input for many drivers on the road these days!
