3000M electric cooling fans
Discussion
Finally making progress on my 3000M resto and need to get the low-down on electric fans. The car has the long, narrow, horizontal rad and previously had a pair of fans of suspect original, clearly found by a previous owner in a bin of useful but really unsuitable parts. One of the fans is marked "Datsun" so that one was clearly found lying about.
I guess the best thing would be a pair of "pusher" 7 inch Kenlowes to mount in front of the rad, but I would really welcome advice and/or learned opinion on the matter. I don't really relish the idea of £200 for a pair of Kenlowes if a cheaper/better option is available. The old fans I have are only any good for the bin.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have the original (I think) electric fan on my 3000M. So far it's provided adequate cooling even on hot days.
I actually bought a pair of Kenlowe's (£200+ ouch!) last year as I experienced 4 days of 37C at the Le Mans Classic in 2010. I was in a modern that time but took the 3000M to last years Le Mans 24 and was a bit scared if it'd be OK as hadn't had it long at the time. It was fine with the standard fan.
I'll let you know in a few weeks if it survives this years Classic - hopefully it won't be that hot!
There are quite a few cheap fans on ebay such as these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-9-RADIATOR-ELE...
No idea if they're any good but maybe worth a punt as a starting point? Others may have tried them.

I have the same radiator and car (well, taimar.)
I had the rad recored as the original i got with it was shot...

Recored And two fans

both are wired to a kenlowe sensor in the coolant... Mines in bottom of swirl pot but is suggested to fit into rad.
The kenlowe is wired to two relays and each fan has one relay each as back up if the other fails.
While testing and had a leaky otter switch the car was ran on idle for up to 45 mins. Fans kicked in and out perfect and doesn't go over 92-95'C.

As you can see i fitted these to the rear of the red and suck the air through.
Tbh next last is to make a cowling but mu setup seems to work fine. Also fitted new thermostat at same time.
Kenlowe is a good brand but i don't honestly believe you must have kenlowe or it'll kill and fail...
