Anyone seen this: http://www.factoryfive.com/kits/project-818/

Looks very tasty indeed, 1800lbs, Subaru Engine so huge power potential, nice design and $10,000 kit price. I am going to be keeping an eye on this one. 2013 launch gives time to save some pennies.

Wow - looks really "production car" nice...assuming final product looks anything like the scale mock ups

The trip across the Atlantic is likely to be very damaging to the price though

The black car here looks great:

Not much of a fan of the blue one, looks a bit generic. Has anyone been able to find any more pictures of the black one?

We're moving to the States in a couple of months and this and the RCR GTA are definitely in the running for a bit of a project!

Another query springs to mind. If they are moving the engine to the back and ditching the rear diff, will the single front dif handle the whole of the torque? Are they planning to just blank off the rear pto? If they had gone down the Murtaya 4wd route then I think this would be even better. I do think it looks good though, and the price is certainly going to be very keen, les so in the UK with shipping, duty and VAT but not too bad even so.

SDR VStorm uses the same arrangement iirc...

Murtaya setup wouldn't suit the car, you'd be stuck with a high bonnet line and ungainly looks, it'd be nowhere near as nice as the artists impressions on the website.

Why a high bonnet line? I thought it was a flat 4.

They're not as low as you might think.

These two cars aren't being made, they were just some of the winners of the design competition, the one you see in the very first link is the one that is actually being made.

Supposedly going to be ready for SEMA 2012, the RCR GTA will also be interesting though probably around twice the price finished but most likely considerably more 'production car'.

They're debuting the car at SEMA in a few days--they should have a race version as well as a road version (and I think a rolling chassis, also?). They just released first full shots of the race version:

And with a driver:
