Guys, hoping you can help me with this because I'm boggled with it now.
I'll lay out what I've found with the horn, its relay and the steering wheel button. See if you can shed any light on why the horn won't work.
The relay is top row, 3rd from the right on my fuseboard.
The fuse is #3 (3rd from the left)
I've proven this and the integrity of the fuse by removing the fuse and watching the voltage drop off pin 30 to the relay.
This clears up the bible info which says #3 Engine Fan + Horns and #20 Interior Light and Horn
Relay pins
30 - Fused +12v
87 - relay switch +12v supply to the horn
85 - Horn button
86 - +12v
All the fuseboard pins for the relay are testing as above.
If I bridge 30 to 87 the horn works until I un-bridge it.
I've swapped the relay with the dim/dip relay from the fuseboard and it makes no difference.
I've tested the original relay with +12v to 86 and earth to 85 and it clicks.
So as far as I can tell the horn should work. But it doesn't.
Have I missed anything obvious?
Ta.

Now I own a Griff and done some handy work on my Cerb I can come round and carry out an inspection along with my stanley knife I'll lay out what I've found with the horn, its relay and the steering wheel button. See if you can shed any light on why the horn won't work.

Seems to me that you have tested the horn, the relay, the fuse and the wiring from the relay to the horn. Perhaps I am being a bit simple but I can’t see that you have tested the horn switch and the wiring from the switch to the relay and the switch to 0v or +12 whichever way it works.
Sorry guys, I should have mentioned I had already checked the horn button was testing OK for continuity.
I've found it, and the prize for the correct answer goes to ANT.
Proving that owning a Tamora doesn't fuddle your brains after all
It was the earth from the steering wheel boss to the button.
All that pratting about and it was a 2" bit of wire.
I've earthed it now by making up a proper wire with proper terminals
and bolting it to the back of one of the steering wheel screws.
I found it by using a wire to attach pin 86 to the board and pin 85 to the earth from the steering wheel boss and got no click even though the wire looked OK
I now have a lovely !!! PARP !!! PARP!!! coming from the garage.
Hopefully my numptiness will be of use to someone in the future.
Thanks for all your suggestions guys. As usual you're all brilliant

You don't own it yet and your stanley knife will be confiscated when you go through Passport Control if you ever venture further North than Watford Gap

May seem a silly question, but have you checked at the horn button end? Also, horns draw high current so if there is a resistance in the circuit though the relay may latch over the horns may not be able to operate because of resistance somewhere. Regards, PeteI'll lay out what I've found with the horn, its relay and the steering wheel button. See if you can shed any light on why the horn won't work.

Just adding my twopennyworth for future searches on this thread from people with a duff horn.
I had the same problem but the fix was even easier. After much pratting about my fault turned out to be dirt on the brass ring and the spring loaded 'nipple contact' that makes contact with the ring at the back of the boss. Not easy to see, even with the cowl off. A quick go over with emery paper and clean with meths and all was well again.
I'm obviously on a different diet as mine goes peep peep.
