How soon do travel companies take bookings for 2013? Also how much and what do you get when booking with 1st tickets or Pistonheads? We have be to Le Mans a couple of times but just using the general camping areas, we would like to return but maybe have some security & food/beer available? Thanks for any input.

Personally I would wait till they announce the dates and in the meantime worry about what to do with the next 360 days of my life

Just sent an email to Lycian travel for their campsite, they are offering 5% off for pre-registration

1st tickets will take a pre-booking now, the form was in with my 2012 tickets.

What do you get?

24 hour security through until Monday in a fenced off campsite. Marquee with draft beer €2 cheaper than on circuit, soft drinks, tea/coffee and tables/chairs. TVs showing racing/other events and Radio Le Mans commentary. Cooked breakfast and dinner (assume this will be back next year but I guess no guarantees). More toilets and showers than you can shake a stick at, always spotlessly clean and only queue was for showers first thing in the morning. It looked as though we had as many, if not more, toilets/showers than the rest of Bleu Nord.

TBH, you'd hate it, best leave space for the rest of us wink

That sounds ideal, the previous years I have been were just in the general camping area with poor showers & toilets. Would be awsom to be able to be at Le Mans with decent facility's. thanks.

We visit Brian's site each year for our AGM - he runs a really good show

As above, try Lycian as well for another very good setup

Stayed with Lycan at Porsche Curves this year and last, excellent set up, nice tent with cold beer and good food, the staff and security were excellent.

It's right next to the track, secure and reasonably peaceful (Z3 car alarm and fireworks/loud techno apart)

Wouldnt stay anywhere else.

1st tickets pitches are either 3.5m x 10m or 5m x 10m. If your van and car would fit in one of those then I don't see why not.

Easiest way would be to ask Brian ("chum racing" on here)

its a 26 foot twin axel with a 2.5 metre awning and the car goes 4.7m so not sure

A smidge under 8m for the van, a 4.7m car would fit across the end of a 5m x 10m pitch so if the car is less than 2m wide you should fit (just). Probably leave the awning at home though for a weekend.
