Why would the keel be titanium?
It's less than half the weight of steel.

Roughly that bulb will need to weigh approx 20-25 ton, there is still no substitute for lead. Great looking boat though, hope to see her do her stuff at St Tropez this year.

the titanium part of the keel will almost certainly be the fin. the bulb will be good old fashioned lead appropriated from some local church roofs

Only going on word of mouth but both titanium fin at 5 ton, bulb i think they said 18 ton both machined and milled.

Only if you're a cheapskate. Tungsten or depleted Uranium for those with multiple directorships, Iridium for those in possession of an oilfield and Osmium for those that own a medium sized country.

It maybe a stupid use for titanium but think of the boasting rights
