did the A'le team get their van back ok?

was watching the A'le team van throw a rather large lump of metal under itself on the mulsanne on friday...did they get it fixed?

I'm guessing so, they were camped next to us and left on Sunday.

part of its exploding shaft hit my mates white 197, my megane was parked behind it too on the mulsanne and had a squirting of oil up it. gotta admit it was an awesome little explosion of drivetrain.

I was stood facing it and saw the drive shaft slapping the floor..actually taking chunks off the asphalt

Thanks for asking! Yes we did get it all the way back to Oxford - at 50mph the whole way! The two of the team who decided to take the van to the limiter and then slam it into drive got their penance though - they were the two mechanics who took the next three hours to weld and fix the driveshaft with the help of the French tyre place on the Mulsanne Straight...

Don't think it will make it next year - we are looking for a bus
