Wondered if someone could point me in the direction of the person on here who is often recommended for selling/ purchasing private plates? I've had one with a firm who advertises a lot and reckoned they could get a good price but with no success at all.

I could do with offloading my plate if I can get not too bad a price for it.

Tried the search facility but without success.

TNR 253, on my old Mercedes W124. In two minds whether to sell car & plate as one or to split.

What do you value it at? £500?

I don't know to be honest, hence the post. I had a quote for higher than that (£1750+) which is clearly unrealistic.

I think if I could get that I'd be happy.

Split them as the plate will add £0 to the value of the car.

The plate is worth more than £750.
There is only one other dateless TNR reg available and that is priced at over £2k. I would say it would be worth around £1,500.
Don't forget the initials are good - surnames with Rs......Roberts, Robinson etc etc.

I would definitely split, not sure about the car spec but I'm guessing its not worth much more than the plate!

I tried to sell mine last year and find that the common internet sites will give unrealistic prices and then a potential buyer would have to pay another 20-30% on top in fees.

I've not tried myself but selling direct on ebay may be another option.
