A few from me. Somehow I managed to capture the Audi and Corvette mid-spin from the ferris wheel!

What do you use to get such clear shots of the cars on track?

The shots above are really nice, my 2p worth is as follows:

A good view with as little as possible to get in your way (which I struggled with this year)

A fence in the way isn't the end of the world, but it can cause a problem with the focussing of the camera if you're unlucky. In the example below, the fence has all but gone.

A good SLR, with good glass (a good lens will make an average camera come to life, and will make a good SLR body give stunning results
Use the right settings - there's no point using a fast shutter speed as you need a sense of movement, 1/125 second is my preferred setting. DOF to be not to shallow or deep.
Learn to pan the camera - following the subject is difficult at first but comes with practice - this is where people struggle, but it does come with time.

As Martin says, good glass will allow you to 'pull through' the wire much easier. I also tend to heavily crop my pictures. As an example, the picture below was taken through the wire at Maison Blanche;

Elsewhere, Tertre Rouge is a good place to get over the top of the wire;

with the added benefit of getting some glowing;

There's a bar at the end of the pits which we used to be able to get access to, unfortunately now the eurosport studio - that's a good place.

Le Mans 2009 by Martin_Bennett, on Flickr

Or by the karting at the end of the Porsche curves there's a pits area where you can get some height
