Have any of you guys had specific experience with alternative brake pads on a C3 Vette. My '68 appears to have the usual type of stock replacement pads that typically never seem to wear out but have limited stopping power. If any one has used alternatives I would like to know.

What a nice car you have!!

Anyway, ahem, to the point.

I recently replaced (on my C4) carbon-metallic brake pads [stock brake calipers and rotors] with EBC Green Stuff pads (mainly as I had some on the shelf!)...

The brakes don't seem as "sharp" - the carbon metallic seemed to bite quickly - although I need to do some tests to see if these green-stuff pads are worse...

But I have to say, the carbon-metallic brakes did feel sharper... sure you can get them for the C3... Mid-America do?

Well, it is only a stock car ... no mods!

TBH, the brakes on it though are fine for me (although I did prefer the carbon metallic pads to these green stuff pads, which aren't as good imho).

I am sure I don't use these brakes to even their full potential!

On a side note, just out and dyno*'d the car : 0-60 in 4.4seconds, and a 13.2 sec 1/4 mile, and that was out of 2 runs just to test this new dyno SW... Am sure I can get to <13s with practice, as shifted 1-2 alright at 55mph, but 2-3 at 78 which I believe could have been 82mphwith my 3.45...

* used TTS Datamaster: connects your laptop to the ALDL, and records (e.g.) speed (which is accurate, as checked against my GPS) and milliseconds...

All not bad for a 13 year old, daily driver!!

I must get round to posting the German vids to my site. Sounds real nice with the B&B and Jeal headers when going for 180.

Brett - looking forward to that, which reminds me, going to check your site out right now, haven't been there for a couple of weeks or so.
The ve-hickle is looking sweet.
