Has anyone ever done this? I have an 18 month interest free credit card so have been looking at runabout cars in dealers.

However, it suddenly struck me that if I buy a car through eBay and pay using Paypal, I can nominate the credit card as the source which would give me vastly more choice and I would retain the 0% offer.

Do they treat such purchases as a cash advance in these circumstances? The T&Cs are never much help. I don't mind paying the 3% but can't see how it would be different to buying a TV etc through eBay.

I can't physically get a cash advance or a bank ac transfer from the card as this apparently wipes out the 0% offer so it's a question of working round it.

I'd hate to bid on and win a car and then find there was a catch somewhere.

did this once (well i was the saeller) buyer paid the fees so no problem. not recommended though for sellers though as paypal are quick to retract funds in case of dispute.

The sellers fees are something like 12-15% when paid by cc's no doubt someone knows for sure but its extortionate.
