Seen a Golf TDI MK4 like and its currents stage 2 with the following upgrades:
Milltek Exhaust
Remap
Pipercross Panel Filter

What would i require to get it to 200+bhp? Front Mount Intercooler? Hybrid?

If i get a PD130 Hybrid is it just a matter of putting it on and getting it remapped again?

It'll have about 170-180hp as it stands Miltek doesn't really help tbh.

You'd need a hybrid and a map, a FMIC won't help much either tbh. Hybrids can be picked up for around £400 and a further £400 for a good map. Not really worth doing for an extra 20-30hp IMO.

The current turbo going pop could give you enough justification to do it wink

It is not Stage 2 it is Stage 1 (if it can be called that!) - What you talk of would be heading for a Stage 2....

Upping the turbo size means upping fuelling and cooling.... ie, bigger injectors, FMIC and a new map to accomodate...

Do you think it would be ok as it is without a fmic?

I have been offered a 06 Ibiza FR Tdi which is a hybrid, remap, milltek decat exhaust etc etc and is 220bhp and 370ft/lb but its £1000 more just though it may have been a little cheaper if i done it my self. Il have to weigh up the pro and cons

I'd go for that over the Golf, I'd expect it has the uprated Sachs clutch too to clamp down the power. The Mk4 Golf won't need one at 300lbs (thats pretty much the limit of the standard clutch)

Ahem.

Get this one so long as its reasonabily priced.

Edit to add: Stage 1 for one tuning company A is different to stage 1 for tuning company B. Thats why there is confusion smile

How do you know. Has someone taken the engine out and tested to full SAE Net or DIN standards on an engine dyno. Probably not.

More mods setup correctly and complimentary to each other will = more power. The arbitrary figure you get from a rolling road dyno is somewhat meaningless.

Nitrous oxide is a good way to get some extra ooomph though. Search YouTube for the Fifth Gear article on doing just this to a Golf biggrin
