Right im having some running issues with my car at the moment, if im sat at a low speed i.e 30/40mph for too long a period then it goes into limp mode (eml flashing, reduced power) I have changed the spark plugs and this has helped a bit but not by much. Im now debating as to if I have a dodgy coil pack or an injector playing up.

The question is how I can test the injectors?

Not easy to test yourself unless you can rig up an injector test rig (fuel pump, regulator, measuring cylinder and a circuit to pulse the injectors at known duty cycles).

What code is stored when the EML is illuminated? What makes you think it's the injectors? It's an unlikely failure mode for an injector.

If an injector is throwing up an error code (or possibly a misfire on a cylinder), in the past i've gone and swapped the injector with the one on the neighbouring cylinder. If the fault moves to the other cylinder, you'll know where the fault lies

Just looked at your garage, the Gaelic theme would point me at a dodgy coil pack rather than the injectors.

Is this the GTI? Without scaremongering, i had a 406 with that same engine and a similar fault. Turned out to be a problem with one of the valves - a Pug specialist i took it to had in a GTI with exactly the same valve problem. I never looked into it further to see if it's a common fault, i offloaded the car instead.

ill dig out peugeot planet tommorow and see what it throws up.

Ive read online that this is a known fault with these, its usually associated with a fauty coil pack or an injector.
