Alfa 156 V6 Exhaust replacement

So at the last MOT my soon to be 14 year old 156 was advised (not an 'advisory' however)that the exhaust would probably need replacing before the next MOT! The problem was with the rear silencer but to be honest most of it looks dodgy. The car has covered all of 60k miles and still has the original exhaust ( so much for poor Italian quality!)

So my question is, based on the cost of probably replacing most of the exhaust, what are my options?

If I'm faced with replacing most of it should I go for an upgrade? (love the noise anyway, don't really need for it to get louder though) Or should I stick to a stock replacement and, if so, any good OEM's to look out for?
