Audi Ignition Problem

Drive a Audi A2, and it seems to have developed an annoying problem over the last few months, which a friend has told me is a problem with other Audi's

ok, get in the car, switch on the ignition then wait for the immobiliser to go off then when i try and start it chugs over

so i lock the car, wait a few minutes, unlock and wait then it starts no problem

it only ever seems to happen in the mornings when its being started for the first time

anyone else had this problem?
