The dreaded new TV question
Discussion
Well the time has come to update our TV. Currently have a Sony 37" LCD we've had it about 5 years, great picture but our viewing distance has now doubled (over 14 feet) so looking at a 50 - 55 inch unit.
Current sources are Blue Ray and a Humax HD Box.
Budget ceiling is about 1.5K - 2K
We saw the Panasonic and were pretty impressed (TX-P50VT30B?)
Just after some suggestions,
We're avid home cinema fans but for the most part don't watch much TV (hence no Sky).
Any thoughts? I'm guessing pretty much all the modern stuff will be 3d ready etc.
Cheers T1b

Hi,
Thanks for the replies
just wanted to add a bit more info,
The room is pretty big but where the TV is sited isn't, so I was going to mount it on a poseable arm on the wall so it can sit outside the chimney stack.
that's the 37 but figure a 55 would be pretty wide. the gap from chimney to wall is just over a meter.
Hope you see the pic

It's a Panasonic G20, ours is a 50"
Interestingly although being a bloke the worlds biggest telly would have been too small, the committee here actually voiced it first that it was maybe a bit small.
Try a cardboard cut out of the size overlayed over yours and stare at it for a bit - you'll be surprised how much it shrinks.
