When do all the planes start arriving and then practising?

I work just under where they turn to land [near the Ham & BlackBird) and can't wait for the noises to add to the distractions of a dull day in the office smile

Is there anything special due to be displayed, be it static or in the air?

Not a brilliant menu of flying aircraft if I may say so.

The F-18 is the one. Loud as buggery, that thing.

I've got complementary tickets as I'm affected by the road closures due to living rather close to the airport, woo.

They had one flying in 2008.

I'm disappointed that the exhibition halls won't be open on teh public day. I think that is a reall cheat not getting the chance to wander around the industry displays. It's what makes Farnbrough different.

As I said earlier, an Osprey certainly has flown at Farnborough before.

Not in '08 though - it was the BA609 Tiltrotor that flew that year. Very similar.

I've already got my tickets for this year :-)

It must have been 2004 or 06 then. I have pictures of the tiltrotor I took myself so I do know the difference.

Engine runs start today so it should make it.

I THINK (hope)the list of flying aircraft is pretty incomplete. Last time I looked it didn't have any of the airliners on it. I think the 787 is due to be displaying, and Airbus always seem to have a couple of birds there (A380 and A330/A32X). I think the Grizzly is meant to be there to.

The aircraft seem to start arriving form the week before, and I've seen them practicing on the sunday before the show starts.

its not that hard to get in on a trade day to be honest.
