Adding two stroke oil to a tank of diesel
Discussion
A good freind has advised me to add a small amount of two stroke motor bike oil (JASO-WB/WC spec) to a tank full of diesel.
He has done this on his Land Rover Disco 3 and it has made the world of difference.
Is this a proven technique? Does this have downsides?
I am wondering if i should use this in my VW Touran which sounds like two skeletons bonking in a biscuit tin and Audi A4.

We put a dab of 2-stroke in our Massey, but that's just to protect the 1960's injection pump from the ultra low sulphur diesel. Sulphur used to lubricate those pumps, so a wee bit of 2-stroke to replace that seems to help.
Yep the older the diesel engine the better the result, i wouldn't bother on a modern but i use 2 stroke on every fill on my 80's TD. (50 to 1)The older transit Di (pre banana) loves the stuff, mind you they are like the noisyest diesel ever
