Springall steering wheel
Discussion
I have an original 60's leather steering wheel - bought in 1968 and remained in its box ever since so in immaculate, as-new condition. It seems to be 14" and is for a splined shaft.
It belonged a friend's late husband who was fond of British sports cars of this era so I'm guessing it was for a Triumph, MG or similar. I'd like to know what it's for and approx how much it should be worth.
Anyone any ides? Pics are at

If you look on Ebay at
Vehicle Parts & Accessories >
Car Parts >
Other Car Parts
You'll see some very high prices, Mini parts are all going to Japan, I saw a used Radydot racing mirror go for over £400. Brand names & pictures are everything, but I'd guess it would make at least £500 possibly heading up to £1000.
There again, what do I know. Try it and see

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't see anything on the box but I'll go and have another look when I get the chance (it's currently locked away in a garage). I thought it might say something on the receipt but it doesn't. Perhaps I should try to find friendly spitfire/MG owners who won't mind me pulling their wheel off to give it a try!
The full Spingall/Springalex range is now being re manufactured - expensive but very, very good:
