Soft Kumho V700's are a good compromise if you need to run in both wet and dry conditions IMO.

It's only for wets, I use pirelli trofeo's in the dry.

Bought a set of R1R's for this reason. Not had a chance to race on them yet but had a very wet trackday at Llandow recently and they were very impressive. The day dried out towards the end but we stayed on them to see how they went from wet to damp to dry. Had some understeer when dry but very good in the damp

if your championship allows it, they can be cut with more grooves to dispel water, as std they are low on groove depth and very few going to edge of tread blocks to clear standing water. In soft compound, its the same rubber as their single seater 'wet' tyre ;-)

We aren't allowed to do any cutting of treads so I think it have to be the R1R's if nobody come up with something better?

Give bmtr motorsport tyres in birmingham a ring for some advice.Im sure a couple of friends have used a cr28 sport road legal wet and said they were great.

do they have to be list 1b for the wets? most list 1b tyres are hopless in the wet, better off with some list 1a tyres for the wet, at list 1amare lowermspec most chmapionships will let younrun them.

I won't be easy to fit 355mm brake's in a 14" wheel and that's the biggest size they do the A021r's in, \I'm looking at 17" tyres

For proper rain, Uniroyal Rainsports are hard to beat, just don't use them in merely wet conditions (where we find 888s with a decent amount of tread perfectly adequate as long as they can get warm) - Ginetta G20 on 15" wheels.

Another thumbup here for R1R's. Changed our Elise from embarrasingly slow to moderately quick in the wet, (with a few other mods aswel).
Soon go off in the dry tho, as we have found to our cost in changeable conditions.

I've used Avon cr28 soft compound on Caterfield style cars for wet racing and they were brilliant. Knocked spots off Yoko cr21r and Kumho v700 soft compound. Not tried any others.
