So, it's on top of the fuel tank?
I have the following:
Black wires above the speaker - old CD changer unit
White wires - other speaker
Black wires near them - looks like driver's side rear lights and fuel tank sensor
Black wires behind the fuel pipe - looks like near side rear lights
Two little wires with plugs on - anyone got a clue?

So, no coax cable or similar.
Can anyone supply any ideas, or a photo of their working aerial lying on top of the tank?
Many thanks

The Electronic aerial is in the screen surround above your head ...IF you really need to see one I have an OE item in stock. Cars that have these in the boot or taped to the rear of the dash top have added them afterwards with standard aerial coaxial cable.

My aerial is behind the flap on the passenger side inside the rear wing (where the door lock solenoid is)

Thanks all. Sorry not to reply sooner, unexpectedly had to go to Chesterfield (someone has to) and had to stay overnight.
Your comments have aroused my interest.
I do have two unconnected terminals on bundle of wires that run from the back of the head unit.
I didn't understand the text in the installation manual, so left them unconnected. They are blue and white leads, numbered 10 and 11 on the diagram, and it says:
"The pin position of the ISO connector will differ depending on the type of vehicle. Connect 10 and 11 when pin 5 is an antenna control type. In another type of vehicle, never connect 10 and 11".
I assumed that antenna control meant electric aerial. Does it? I rang my TVR guy, and he said that I didn't necessarily have to connect all the wires, but now I am itching to connect 10 and 11. They have what i know as bullet connectors on the wires, and one is male and one is female. All TVR owners are real men, and real men just want to push male and female together..............but will I cause damage if I do? Worse still, will me car get pregnant? What do you think?
I'll just go and put the boot back together now the cataclysmic downpour has stopped - no, the car is undercover, I am not THAT stupid!

The electronic aerial still connects, plugs in as normal, it just has 2 wires that run up the screen surround to the module in the head rail. (red and grey from memory).

Thanks Alex for an amusing half hour extracting my new head unit over at yours (steel rulers down the sides - brilliant!!), and finding the bad connection at the back. Aerial must be in the windscreen, as it certainly wasn't in the boot.
Only other battle was whether we tried it on Radio 1 (Alex) or Radio 2 (me, until I found it was ruddy Elaine Page, so switched to Radio 1)

Alex then gave me an extra 30 BHP in 30 seconds and condemned my car as a fire hazard.
