Well you'll be pleased to know its the highest rate in the UK yes.

If it helps, the Irish, Dutch and Italians would view that price as a bargain.

Doubtful, it hasn't been Road Fund Licence for 76 years. It's Vehicle Excise Duty. So not technically tax either.

It is the highest rate of VED payable for an already registered petrol or diesel car that was first registered after 23rd March 2006.

For vehicles being registered for the first time since 1 April 2010, bands K, L and M attract first year rates of £600, £815 and £1,030 respectively.
