Tax it at a post office with your insurance certificate (or cover note), the new keeper supplement and current MOT (if applicable).

If you tax it online, the tax disc will be sent to the old registered keeper.

I'd do as suggested and use the post office.

This. You cannot do it online unless you are buying from a friend and trust he will hand it over when it comes.

Some post offices which are in the BIG supermarkets like Asda are open on a Sunday, only the Mega
supermarkets though

Patience is no longer a virtue, it's an absolute fking necessity where DVLA are involved.

OP - if you can't get a trailer for tomorrow morning you either have to risk being stopped for driving an untaxed vehicle (and probably also having to prove you have insurance), or wait until you can get it taxed at a post office before trying to drive it.

As for picking it up at a service station - does anyone else hear those bells ?

Im meeting him at a service station as he live 330miles away from me so weve planned to meet in the middle. Problem is though i have no car from tomorrow and wont be able to meet him till next weekend. Thought that paying the insurance yesterday would leave enough time to tax it today or tomorrow morn.
