Hi

I'll load this onto the TVR general section as well.
Car is a MK2 S wavey dash, been fine up to yesterday the dash display that lights up TVR in between the rev and speedo went dim then then nothing. The speedo clock works and the rev counter works the car starts and runs fine, the centre LED is alight but no information is coming up, the red rev warning light is flickering with the engine running and comes up bright when the engine is switched off.
Pulled the dash fuses to see if they would maybe rest it but no joy.
Any tips please.

Could be the ribbon cables loose at either the ECU:-

or at the dash:-

These can just be reached with the dash in position.

I had an earth fault on mine that caused a similar problem, the display would come back on when the dash pod was removed from the chassis ground.

We never got a handbook with a convertible (or MK3 Targa wavey dash)..So Phil T's guide is a must have

A simple thing that can happen is the CONTRAST is set to Zero on your screen ... then you see nothing... You need a dark garage to reset it smile

Thanks, yes that did happen, and managed to sort it, this time the screen is really blank and the red gear change light flickers with the engine running.
Having a few problems accessing the ribbon on the steering column, it seems to be coming in on the right of the steering wheel as you are sitting in the car is this correct, there is a cover on the underside of the steering column should that be removed for better access?

Ribbon cables are to the right, I did not need to remove the lower cowling. Try adjusting the steering wheel to it's lowest position, this if I remember correctly helps with access to the ribbon cables.
