My father's DB9 won't start - any ideas?

Afternoon everyone.
I went to start Dad's DB9 Volante this morning but it won't start, won't even turn over.
When you switch on the ignition several electric faults flash up on the dash, including faults with the engine and with rollover protection. You then press the Start button and absolutely nothing.
It sounds like the battery is completely flat, however here in lies the mystery - the car has been on trickle charge for the last couple of weeks. It's Aston's own one, using the boot socket, if that makes any difference to the diagnosis.
It is an '05 car, and don't think we've bought a new battery in the 4 years we've owned it.
Is it simply time for a new battery, or could things be a bit worse? I ask as I've never noticed all the warnings when we previously had a flat battery a long while ago.
Any advice would be great appreciated.

Could be lots of things. Battery like you say is the obvious one. Can u jump start it, or have another battery charger to try? Also try the battery isolation switch to disable the majority of the electronics. if you replace the battery you will need to do a battery reset procedure on seats / windows. Details in the FAQ`s at top of the Aston forum.
Could also be the roof module, can throw up lots of error codes and may disable the whole car. Not overly expensive to replace

If the battery was flat before you put the trickle charger on it the isolator will have cut in already. Putting on charge with the battery isolated means the battery isn't charging at all. You will not be able to jump start the car with the battery isolated either.
You need to reset the battery isolator before charging or jumping. On the coupe it's a little red push button which can be seen through a hole in the metal battery cover under the rear seat bolster/bum pad thingy on the drivers side. This just pulls off as it is only velcro fastened.
Push this then either jump it or put it back on charge.

I just thought I should wrap up this thread with a final post.
We tried to jump start the car. After an unsuccesful first attempt, it finally started but continued flashing up warnings and refused to select any gears!
A quick phone call to our local dealer meant the following day, a pleasant man came to visit with a shiney new battery and a laptop to reset a few bits.
She is now back to normal.
