Hi all,

I'm after peoples thoughts on the above deal, the cars are all ready in stock, and the deal has to be done by June 30th.

Apr is 3.9%, which is obviously good.

The problem is, orignally i was looking at the 320d, which is the better all round car, but should i look past that , as i cant get the same terms as the 318d.

Opinions much appreciated.

Awful lot of money for a bland, if very good, car.

You don't say what the final balloon payment is so it's hard to judge

£400 a month sounds an awful lot when you compare what you can get on a lease for 2 years.

Forget it, there's a deal floating round the halliwell jones group that's £2k deposit, £369 a month for 4 years for a 320d sport.
Not saying the deals brilliant but it gets you into a 2012 model 320d sport.

You could spend less and get a car that is equally competent over less years.

A Civic 2.2 CDTI could be had for c£240 a month on a 3+35 lease. Granted its not RWD, has the wrong badge but you'd be 2 tanks of fuel a month better off over the 318d and you won't be stuck in it for as long if you get bored.

Oh and if the Civic isn't special enough an S5 is £299 + VAT a month (not inc a deposit) and you'll still be nearly a tank of petrol a month better off in a more interesting car.

I've done the new car thing never again lost heaps.

Instead try the £7k challenge (or £10k if you have to) countless great cars to buy and even if it was worthless after one year that's the same as the depreciation you will suffer in the first year....
And there is nothing wrong with say 5-7ywar old cars. Or much older.

The more you spend the more you will lose fact. Sure it will not do a gazzilion mpg or have the latest gizmo but £ in your pocket means many lovely holidays or many years cut from your mortgage.... Or if you rather to buy something exotic F355?? Etc

Think about it.

Or buy a 3 year old 318/320d for £10k..... I bet you will struggle to justify the £17k premium wink.

I'd say the same, awful lot of money for that kind of car. I'd be looking at something like a slightly older (2010+ with the newer CIC sat nav) 330d sport for that kind of money.

There is a lot to be said for a new car. Personally love the new car feeling, though it would have to be something special for me to want to lose that much £.

We didnt get around to talking figures for the 320d, but there's no offer on it at the moment, so will be BMW's standard PCP rate.

For every £1000 you put in as a deposit, the monthly comes down £25.

If i put £4000 in, and got figures to £300 a month, would that be a better way of going about it?

For less money a month you could run a 320d that's less than 2 years old, or for a few £ more a month you can buy the same 320d outright over 4 years, both of those are based on the AUC site with no negotiation done.

If you have £4k to put down why on earth are you considering a new 318d on a PCP when you could have a 2 year old 320d (or ed if you want more economy) for much less a month and have either a tiny balloon or even own the car outright?
