Views of the BiB regarding bike exhausts
Discussion
Ideally this should probably belong in the Bikers forum, but as I guess most of the BiB will look in here as opposed to there, I thought I would ask the following question here!
On another forum I subscribe to I've been having a chat with a bike cop from the TVP region about his thoughts on dark visors and race cans on motorbikes. He says that he is campaigning (as part of BMF) for black visors to become legal
, but stands by the letter of the law when it comes to race cans. What are the views of the BiB on here? Do you issue tickets, etc.. to bikers with them on?Streetcop/TonyRec - do you have aftermarket exhausts on your own bikes?

I've changed my can back to standard recently- not because of the law, but because it was rather dented when I low-sided my bike at Paddock Hill...
aaaaanyway- the constant pestering of sports bike riders and their loud cans really annoys me when you hear a fecking Harley rider come past producing 120 dB from his open, baffle-less system and the police don't bat an eyelid.

Hi Scott...
Aftermarket exhausts...I don't have one on my Honda Blackbird and i've never owned a bike with one on.
My personal view is: I don't like them. I think they are too noisy and give motorcyclists a bad name. There aren't many people who can ride a motorbike to the machine's limit, so why they want a little more power from the exhaust is a mystery to me.
Black visors...don't pull riders with them on during the day, but do in the evening..

Your lardy tourer obviously doesn't suffer from this

Nope...no dips in power...just silky smooth power delivery with Honda reliablilty...
Reliability...sorry..that's alien to an Aprilia rider..
..(only joking mate..) Street
ps: loud exhausts just turn Bib's heads in your direction

I guess it depends on how the bike is setup, a race can made no difference to my CBR on the old arse dyno. I think it'll have needed a power commander to change the mapping to get any benefit.
