Mk1 Golf Gti with a difference - Mk3 TDi Power!

Hello,
Since owning my minty mk1 golf Campaign edition 5 years ago I've been hankering after another one... In the last few years I've dabbled with an e30 318is, a 325ti compact, mr2 mk3, and a brief flirtation with a diesel Pug, which I all enjoyed in their own way, but I didn't like them as much as I liked my MK1 golf.
Today I picked up this:
She is awesome, it pulls like a train and barely touches diesel, which is nice!
The conversion was done by a friend of mine, it has the mk3 golf clocks, pedal box, clutch, gearbox, brakes as well as the engine. She is a bit rough around the edges, but these little issues will be sorted as soon as possible. Things like the passenger door needing a new handle, a new headlining is needed, the dash needs sorting, the paint on the roof needs some love, all minor things but I'll do them bit by bit!

Wow, anyone who isnt a diesel fan is an idiot, not up your own arse much are you;), for the record im not anti diesel i can just think of better things to do with a 3 door mk1 golf, but its the OP's car and his to do what he wants, not my cup of tea but 10 out 0f 10 for being leftfield. ...we are not all Anti-Diesel idiots on PH.

How much would you like for the headlining?
It's a daily and I need something economical, and this seemed just the ticket! It's a bit different to the usual 1.8t/g60/vr6 conversions!
It drives really well, the torque is awesome, and it makes the twisities and roundabout experience a lot of fun! It is quite amusing as it's quite loud - makes me chuckle upon start up!
There is scope to tinker with the engine further, but I'm going to focus on ironing out the niggles first and foremost.

Haha cool- Mike is my other half's sisters chap. He's bloody talented at what he does and a great fella too!
This car is serious smiles per miles, I wanted it as soon as I saw he'd built it, and when it was for sale it was a no brained!
I can't wait to get stuck in with this beastie on the weekend!

So far I've done a few odds and ends such as sorting through drivers side lock and handle out, fitting an engine mount bolt, the water pump, getting full beam working, so I'm slowly getting there, awaiting a few more parts this week, and I'm going to replace the heater blower asap too...
