Had a Citroen DS5 for the weekend as a hire car and was sooo disappointed. I love old Citroens, and even if my old Volcane was really just a Peugeot, it still had "something". But the DS5 was a bouncy, crashy thing with hard (unfrench) seats, lots of bling and no real substance. It just felt like a Picasso with a lower claustraphobic roofline, ridiculously big wheels, Audi-style "sports" suspension and tacky aluminium-look plastic.

My next car has to be less than about 1.5m high, a bit bigger than my C30 and preferably not the standard German fare, so if the DS5 had the loverrrly floaty suspension and was comfortable with a bit of poke, I'd have considered it. Still, what do I know, I'm probably just an old fuddy duddy.

Disappointed to read of your disappointment; I have only seen pics of the car but really like the look of it and was semi-seriously considering looking at purchasing one (financial suicide, I know) later on this year, after we have been on the family holiday and I could drop the people carrier.

What engine and trim level did you have?

really like the look of these cars too... but they've made the classic mistake in that as its aimed at those who might buy something german, they stuck rock hard suspension on there. They shouldnt have sold out and kept it french, with bouncy castle suspension.
