Rear right Damper needed!

Hello chaps,

So after my little jaunt on the track at the weekend, I've found this fine mess in the wheel arch and wheel:





I was planning a full refresh of the suspension this winter but it seems I'm going to have to do at least part of it now. Does anyone have a rear right damper or a matched pair of rears that I could scrounge or purchase please?

Hi mate, I've got a full set of working dampers that I took off my 3R.

I'm sure we could come to some arrangement

I ordered a full set of the Protech's last week - should hopefully be here this week - as my OSR has started leaking, so will have the NSR spare.....

my personal opinion it is false economy to fit a single or pair of dampers on a car like a Noble

if the damper is worn then the balance will not be correct

might be worth stumping up the cash and doing it properly

I'm going to do it properly eventually, just not right now. I'm sure a pair of dampers with oil in will be better than the ones I have on it now. Winter is full refurb time.

Always do them in pairs.

The other wont be far behind and will be a lot weaker than a new one.

Ok so I've had a quote from Bilstein to refurbish all 4 of mine to factory standard for approximately £450.

The thing I'm not sure about is whether the Protech setup is actually better. I do mostly road driving, which the standard suspension seems to do very well. What advantage would the new stuff give me?

Obviously harder isn't always better and I'm no vehicle dynamics expert so there's a chance without a professional setup I'd just make it worse.

I like the compliance you get with the standard, and mine are 10 years old so a full refurbished set will most likely be even better. Compliance is also going to be needed if I, say, go to the Nordschleife next year.

Hi Chappers , the Protechs are 2 way adjustable so you can pretty much set them std or stiffer you can even go softer than std if you want , i have pretty much sorted a road setup and track setup but there are also plenty of guys who have fitted them with great success and can offer good advice if needed , they also come with a std 3 year warranty .

also bare in mind your springs are 7 years old and are not included in that refurb price so who knows how they are wearing ect .

on saturday i left the track with my dampers set for track .......i only managed 5 miles before i adjusted them back to a road setup !!!! you can set them very stiff if you want !!
