I am looking into buying a complex expensive German car from a private seller. It would be daft not to buy a warranty from a third party. Which company is the most reputable out there? I'd rather pay a premium to have a no quibble, everything covered type of policy. Any advice appreciated! Thanks...

Depends on the car, the mileage and the history. Also depends what you want to spend and how comprehensive you need it to be.

Some German cars you can get added back onto factory schemes, others have mileage limits and claim limits that might be an issue.

It's an Audi. Mileage is sub 60k. I want it to cover everything - electrical, gearbox, engine, everything aside from consumables obviously. If I can't find a decent warranty I'll skip buying the car. Cheers...

Do Audi do their own scheme? Porsche and Mercedes do. It's not cheap, but its as close to having a new car warranty as you'll get.

Heard lots of less than encouraging things about third party warranties.

In a dilemma myself over whether to go this route with mine, just put a post up about it.

Thanks, I'll look into an Audi scheme to see if they would cover it.

If anyone else has another suggestion I'll appreciate it...

low mileage so Audi might cover it with their extended cover if it has full dealer service history etc. worth checking out as the manufacturer backed warranties are usually much better than paying out and claiming back from third parties. Otherwise companies like warranty direct, rac/aa etc. are worth a try.
