Does the make of Blend Motors matter?
I can see from web searches that there are:
1) OE (don't know who these are made by - or is it actually Land Rover)
2) Valeo
3) Britpart

Different prices (1 most expensive, 3 = half price of 1).

Does the make matter?
Are the cheap ones a false economy?

Thanks in advance,
Shentodj

Valeo are O.E parts. Everything offered by Britpart are crap. Its a false economy. On parts like that, that require a bit of labour in doing the job in the first place then i would be putting my money in genuine parts. If it goes wrong with cheaper parts then you will find your pulling the dash out again.

I got my blend motors from Island4x4 - they were valeo.
Worth noting that simply changing the blend motors may not solve the problem - i found that the flaps inside the heater assembly were very stiff - presumably caused by the whole thing becoming distorted over time. In my case they were so stuff I couldn't get it to do a single calibration run.

I started by following the instructions on the rrnet site but quickly decided to take the dashboard out - which wasn't actually that difficult and allowed me to do the o-rings and blends in one sitting.

Extensive photos of the process here:
