I've travelled into your area this week, it would appear that "the powers that be" are lowering the speed limit on the M4 Westbound approx 1/2 mile prior to the tolls at the end of the Second Severn Crossing.

I've seen a sign (covered) with a non NSL sign on it, and then a NSL sign just after the tolls.

Keep an eye out and your speed down, we've all seen the SCam van on the bridge just by there.

Much as we all dislike Brunstrom - isn't he North Wales? Don't think we can blame him for this ...

I have to go into Wales again today, will try and ask a toll booth person what the new limit will be. I dont neccesarily think its a bad idea to slow traffic down before the tolls, i'd guess it'll go to a 50mph, but they have the vans over the motorway there on a regular basis, and if its a lower limit then they'll be there more often to "enforce" it.

And no, Mr Brunstrom isn't anything to do with South Wales (unless they use what hes done and just do things slightly less mad so they dont get noticed!)

Brunstrom is responsible for pretty much all of it! He is the ACPO tw@t in charge of all the speed camera stuff.

I always believed that true nutters never got to power. Hail Brunstromstuffer...

Brunstrom is behind the current speed paranoia. And dontcha love the word onanist, it can be used in the most polite of company to such good effect.

Conversation at a garden party.

Dickie: "Hi, I am in charge of police speeding policy"

Moi: "So nice to meet you, I must say I really think that must make you quite an onanist"

Dickie: "Why thank you kindly"

Dickie on getting home and reading the dictionary.... "Doh"

<the sound of a thousand PHers flipping through their dictionaries>

(funnily enough, the Longman Pocket English doesn't list it, but Google comes to the rescue - won't forget that in a hurry )

Although Brunstrom is camera mad, he's also Trafpol mad and has increased his Trafpol numbers more than any other Chief Constable in the last year..

It's inaccurate too... what Onan did wasn't masturbation but coitus interruptus. His sin was to try and wriggle out of fathering children on behalf of his dead brother as required by Jewish law, by pulling out early.

i like the tolls boths .... the only place you can blast a 0-70 mph legally, wacky races as the 10 odd boths mix in to 3 lames, great stuff.

I for one dont think i object to having more traffic police on the roads. Rather them than cameras!

Have you noticed how far back the 50mph and then 30mph limits are on the M6 toll.

You could die of thirst on the way from the limit sign to the toll booths...and then on the way out the NSL is a long, long way back.

So...drivers break the 30mph limit by over 60mph (yes...90...) by the time they hit the NSL.

One mobile scamera van and pretty much every last driver could be staring at a long ban and nine points...like shooting fish in a barrel.

So far its not been done...it would be political suicide...but you just never know....

Careful on the M6 toll people...
