First time at Silverstone GP this year, my usual trip to Silverstone is for track days and usually takes 90 mins or so in normal traffic. Is the traffic on raceday as horrible as legend has it... If I want to be inside the circuit by 10am on the Sunday what is a sensible time to allow for the jouney.. Many thanks.

I would aim to be there at 8am and then have an hour kip in the car. 10am is probably peak arrival time. If arriving at 9-10am allow an extra 90 mins min

First race is at 8:15biggrin GP3, GP2 race is at 9:30am

Gates open at 6am

On a positive note you won't have to queue for the tiolets much if you arrive before 8am

As with all busy racing events the earlier the better. Even smaller events like the BTCC tend to build up big queues after about 8:30am.

I guess if you have a grandstand the other option is to get there last minute 12ish and miss the warm ups etc.
By that time most of the traffics already going to be parked up
