NOS on a 1.6 MKI Eunos or conventional tuning
Discussion
Has anyone fitter NOS to a MKI MX5 1.6?
Is so what were the results ans where did you get the kit from.
Failing the availability of NOS I was concidering conventional tuning (NOT INTERESTED IN FORCED INDUCTION at the mo)
ie Jenvys, Tubular Exhaust Manifold, up the compression and possible cams (nothing to wild as I want to retain hydraulic lifters)

Why does it have to be one or the other??Is so what were the results ans where did you get the kit from.

Nitrous and conventional n/a tuning mods will complement each other. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Anyone who hasn't used nitrous before will tell you don't. Those that have are likely to share a different view. So make of it what you will

Personally I'd be tempted to look here for parts: http://www.noswizard.com/
And post up in this forum to ask about it: http://forum.nitrous-advice.org/
Remember any nitrous kit can be removed completely and either sold separately or fitted to another car. So it has sound financial reasons to go for it.
The biggest drawback to nitrous IMO is the lack of any part throttle performance improvements. I know the answer is just use more throttle, but as drivers that's never the case nor quite so simple.

My main problem when you for blats with my Caterham palls is not pace howery its the overtaking ability thats the problem
My thoughts were a s
t of NOS for overtaking will help progress more than anything else
A 25 or maybe even a 50 shot would make a huge difference. Go for it My thoughts were a s

Insurance companies used to run a mile after some idiot in USA blew up their car + garage + second car after leaving the bottle heater on. I did ask about it 10 years ago.. after reading Soren's site and a few others. It does sound a nicer solution as a turbo completely changes the character of the engine and the NOS does sound like the solution for an overtaking burst while leaving n/a easy balance the rest of the time.
