Got home tonight and the car has spewed its guts up,looks like the water pump has given out. More bloody hassle... Grrr

Whats the chances of snapping most of the sodding bolts off too whilst removing it...

get out there now while its still warm and loosen the bolts mate, its the best way!

you dont have to take it all apart, just crack the bolts and you should be easily sorted!

Yeah good idea - just go around all the bolts and crack each one half a turn.

If you are lucky the previous ones had a bit of copaslip on them.

Busted one clean off, one of the little stupid ones, what dumb ass thought a diddy little bolt was what was needed.

The same dumb ass who thought the pump also needed a 4mm hole to let the water piss out???

Its a leyland part, what did I expect to find.

Its off now, parts shop tomorrow to get a new one.

nice one only busting one bolt!

Can you get an extractor on it? or some good mole grips once the pump is off?

A good tip from Jack Valiant is to get the bonnet off, loads more room to play, oh and the 4mm hole is a telltale so you know for sure that the seal is gone!

Good luck

Better it pisses out there than out the end of the nose and you get the fan belt slipping, which not only makes the problem worse but you also lose electrickery ;^)

Last time I looked Rimmer Bros had the pumps but over 100 quid. I haven't seen any on the flea for a good few months now.

As sor the busted bolt if there's a little stud left try heat - if you have a mig welder you could tack an iron plate onto it and it will turn easily.
