Lowestoft Air Festival 2012.

Not my photos (broken phone and camera prevented anything ) so I can't comment on lenses etc!

However, what a great show...i'm not normally 'into' the airshow aspect of these two days, instead, our family tends to make a drunken get together out of it - you know how it is..any excuse for a party.

Still, this year, the Typhoon was back, and by god is it not a great bit of kit.

Everyone who came by said "i'm not into planes, but that's a great piece of engineering" and it is.

Compared to the Tornadoes etc, it's incredibly manouvreable, turns on a sixpence!

£3 entry fee this year, rather than a £1 donation, more to do with costs of holding on a weekend, but still, not bad value considering you get a programme with various vouchers for cheap meals 241s etc.

I go every year to see a crash (I don't hope for any injuries) and the one year i've missed, the one single year out of 16 Lowestoft Air Festivals, was the one where the Harrier crashed - directly in front of our beach hut!!! Gutted!!!

Harrier is very sadly missed, always put on an incredible show, everyone you talked to said it was always the most impressive display, the little 'bow' at the end was brilliant.

Hawker Sea Fury T20 - the trainer version of the Sea Fury fighter.

The instructor sits in the back and peers over the head of the pupil using a periscope - although the persiscope is removed on this restoration.
