Griffith Heater Control Panel
Discussion
Hello all. I have recently taken out my heater control panel on my 95 Griff. The switch that the turns the heater/fan on and off and controls the fan speed has had its day and needs replacing. I've tried RS Components website but I can't find anything remotely similar. Can anyone help me out and tell me where I can get one of these switches from. The cold/hot switch, the air circulation switch and the direction switch are all the same. I've also tried Maplin but got no joy from them either. Hope somebody can help. Thanks,
Martin

You need the above, but with a linear resistance instead of logarithmic. I dare say you can construct an appropriate part number from the datasheet and find it for sale somewhere.

Thanks DNB. At least I have an idea what I'm looking for now. Marty, strangely I took the heater panel to my local electronics shop yesterday and asked him to take off the circulation switch and use that. Today he tells me that the circulation switch is broken as well. Now I need two switches. I looked on the RS components website for a linear switch/potentiometer but they only seem to do logarithmic ones. Would I be ok using the logarithmic one that you showed me, DNB. What would happen if I used that one and not a linear one. It looks exactly the same as the ones that are on the control panel apart from the fact that it's not green.
The log one would work after a fashion. You'd get a very weird fan speed versus dial position - all the adjustment would be at one end of the range. Best bet would be to find a linear one.
A couple of the switches are not used in the pots unless you have A/C, so you could get the linear version that doesn't have the push switches built in.
I do know a couple of people experienced in finding obsolete components. I will ask one of them if they can source any (I have a spares, but am hording it for my own use
